STORY
Four young people spend their winter holiday in a remote alpine hut, while tensions within the group and with the hut warden gradually escalate. But when a violent snowstorm on Christmas Eve triggers a devastating avalanche and buries the hut, a dramatic fight for survival begins. Trapped in the icy cold and suffocating snow, the situation becomes more and more hopeless by the hour. Will this be their last Christmas?
The hut warden, a former priest and disillusioned with life, undergoes a remarkable transformation. He becomes a self-sacrificing hero who helps the young group in their greatest need. He becomes the type of self-sacrificing son of God.
The story touches on central themes such as acceptance and forgiveness, the importance of friendly relationships, and the existential question of life after death and the existence of God. THE VERY LAST CHRISTMAS is more than just a survival drama - it is a journey to the core questions of human existence.

FINANCING
The total cost of the film is around CHF 150,000, with the majority being covered by our own contributions. We need CHF 15,000 to cover some of the production costs. FILM
The final version of the film will be available for public screenings from the end of November 2024.
According to the Youth Protection Act (JSFVG), we recommend that the film be rated 12 years and older . The responsibility for compliance with this requirement lies with the organizer.
The screening dates will be published on the homepage in consultation with the organizer.
Depending on time availability, directors, writers, actors and crew members may attend the screenings and are also available for short interviews.
From the end of November 2024, the organizers will receive a video for the pre-show and the film for download. The organizer will inform the producers about the planned screening.
Screenings may only be for non-commercial purposes . Collecting voluntary contributions (collection) to cover the costs of the event is permitted. Fixed entrance prices must be agreed in advance with the producers.
